Hey there!

It’s always kind of difficult, exciting and a little bit scary to start something new. Where will this journey lead us to? It’s hard to foretell, but we can clearly say, how it all begins.

There are two of us writing for this blog: Sasha and Dasha. Yes, it does rhyme. But now we will not talk about it.

We met back in 2010 as we both matriculated at the same faculty of journalism. But really our friendship started, when we went for a one year exchange student program to Germany. So we were living together in fact under single roof. The main common ground for us was our shared passionate love for the Russian rachet TV-shows. Just kidding (not really).

So after 6 years of knowing each other we decided  to try to make something with our own hands, to use our fantasy and imagination at full blast, to produce and to inspire. That’s how we came up with an idea to create this blog.

The translation is “Black Hen”. Why? Well, first of all, we absolutely love this word-combination because of its Russian touch to it and bold-funny way of sounding. Plus Sasha was born in a year of a Black Rooster (hello, all of you, horoscopes lovers!).

The concept of our blog is simple, but, as we think, quite fascinating. Every single week we will invite you to join us on a journey to the most beautiful cities of the world. We will talk to the local residentsts to learn more about cool secret places to visit, show you the outfits those are associated with the unique city’s steets atmosphere and cook the most delicious national dishes a la vegan.

Anyway we hope thet this round-the-world journey absorb you as mush it does us.
